D.J. Hall & The Palm Springs' pools

D.J. Hall is a realistic Los Angeles born painter. She started when she was 21 years old: "I approach each new painting as though I am producing a film: selecting models, wardrobe changes, locations, props, time sequences, etc".

Jacques Monory Monochromes

The painter Jacques Monory was one of the first painters of the French figuration narrative movement in the 1960s and one of the first to face the abstract movement in this years. Influenced by Pop Art and after ten years to work for art editor Robert Delpire, he developped a very interesting photographic & cinematographic vision of painting. He currently lives near Paris.

The atmosphere of his paintings are always stange and mysterious including guns, murders or violence scenes of everyday. The very cold blue monochrome is an indication for the spectator to think that maybe the scene is not real... Official wesite.

Conrad Ventur - This Is My Life (Shirley Bassey)

Yesterday we were at the Forever & Today INC, a gallery between New Yorkʼs Lower East Side and Chinatown, to see the new multi-channel video installation by American artist Conrad Ventur. A great and beautiful installation in maybe the smallest gallery in the world.

Official description : "Ventur brings together concepts of biography, celebrity, and captured historical performances within the realm of expanded cinema in This Is My Life (Shirley Bassey), using selections from a lifetime of performances by legendary Welsh singer Dame Shirley Basseyʼs unforgettable 1968 song “This Is My Life.”

Culled from the internet site YouTube, videos of Bassey singing “This Is My Life” during various stages of her career are simultaneously filtered through slowly spinning crystal prisms suspended in close proximity to the lenses of projectors, creating a kaleidoscopic effect casting infinite images of the songstress.

An ethereal and haunting experience ensues, as the singer appears at different ages and stages of her career with a chorus of Basseys singing along in rhythm and time."
